Tamlyn Melville obtained a BCom Law degree as well as an LLB at NMMU after which she completed her articles specialising in general litigation and personal injury law. Tamlyn joined Simpsons in 2010 and was admitted as an attorney in December of the same year. She worked at Simpsons until it became Simpsons Attorneys Inc. in 2014, at which time she became a director. Tamlyn heads up our litigation department and her duties include expanding the practice and brand management, consulting with clients, negotiating settlements, gathering evidence and preparing for trial where necessary.

Tamlyn enjoys the practical nature of her work. She lives by the Desmond Tutu quote: ‘If you are neutral in situations of injustice, then you have taken the side of the oppressor’. This outlook is evident in the passion she brings to advocating for her clients.
